Quality & compliance

Quality is a schedule, not an inspection

Final inspection tells you what went wrong. In-line control is what stops it happening. Our QC technicians sit on the production floor from fabric receipt to carton sealing — five control points, not one.

Five control points

Where quality is actually decided

  • 1. Incoming fabric inspection. Shade against approved standard under controlled light, weight per square metre, shrinkage, stretch and recovery, plus a visual roll check for weaving faults and contamination.
  • 2. Cut and bundle audit. Ply count and piece count verification, shade grouping so no panel mix-ups reach the line, and panel dimension checks against the marker.
  • 3. 100% in-line inspection. Every operator's work is checked at the station, not at the end. Stitch density, seam run-off, symmetry, measurement at key points.
  • 4. Pre-final audit. Full measurement audit on 10% of output against the approved spec, fit review on a form, and hardware function testing on every style.
  • 5. Final AQL 2.5 inspection. Random sampling across cartons, critical / major / minor defect classification, carton and packaging audit, metal detection where required, and a photo record issued with the report.

Inspection standard

How we classify defects

We inspect to AQL 2.5 for major defects and AQL 4.0 for minor defects, with a zero-tolerance critical list. If your buyer specifies a different standard, we inspect to theirs.

ClassDefinitionExamplesAQL
CriticalUnsafe, illegal, or unsellableNeedle or metal fragment, broken zip mechanism, incorrect size label on retail-ready pack0.0
MajorVisible defect a customer would returnOpen seam, skipped stitch, measurement outside tolerance, wrong shade panel, misaligned placket2.5
MinorNoticeable but not return-worthyLoose thread over 10 mm, slight puckering, minor label placement drift4.0

In-house lab

Tests we run ourselves — and what goes out

Some tests we run in-house every batch. Others go to accredited third-party labs when your buyer or market requires an official report.

In-house, every bulk lot

  • Colour continuity against approved standard
  • Dimensional stability after washing (shrinkage)
  • Pilling and abrasion resistance
  • Seam strength and seam slippage
  • Stretch and recovery on performance knits
  • Squat-proof opacity on leggings and bras
  • Metal detection on needles and hardware

Third-party accredited lab, on request

  • OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification
  • REACH SVHC and restricted substances screening
  • CPSIA / CPSC compliance (US children's and general wear)
  • Colour fastness to washing, perspiration and light
  • UPF rating verification for sun protection claims
  • Waterproof and breathability testing (mmH2O, g/m²/24h)
  • Recycled content verification under GRS
Certifications & audits

The paperwork behind the claims

Buyers' compliance teams ask for evidence, not logos. Current certificates and audit reports are available on request, with scope, issuing body and expiry date clearly stated.

ISO 9001:2015

Quality management system, certified by an accredited body. Scope covers pattern development, manufacturing and inspection.

BSCI & SEDEX / SMETA

Social compliance audits covering working hours, wages, health and safety, and freedom of association. Reports shareable via the platform.

OEKO-TEX Standard 100

Tested for harmful substances at the fabric level for our main performance qualities. Certificate number supplied to buyers.

GRS — Recycled

Certified recycled polyester and recycled nylon sources with transaction certificates traceable to your order.

WRAP

Responsible production certification covering labour practices, environment and security standards.

REACH & CPSIA

Restricted substance compliance for EU and US markets, verified by third-party lab reports per bulk order.

Before publishing: list only certifications this facility genuinely holds, and keep scope and expiry dates accurate. Publishing a certification you do not hold is a legal and commercial risk in most export markets.

Responsibility

People, and the materials we put into the world

Social compliance is not a document we produce for audits. It is the reason buyers who visit come back, and the reason we can keep skilled machinists when the industry around us cannot.

Fair employment

Written contracts, statutory wages paid on time, social insurance, no forced overtime, and a worker committee that meets monthly.

Health & safety

Ventilation and dust control, machine guarding, first-aid trained staff on each floor, and documented fire drills.

Lower-impact materials

Recycled polyester and nylon, organic cotton, TENCEL™ Lyocell, and C0 DWR finishing that avoids PFCs.

Waste & energy

Fabric offcut collection for recycling, packaging reduction, and LED conversion across the production floor.

Documentation we supply with every order

  • Final inspection report with defect summary and photos
  • Measurement report against the approved spec sheet
  • Packing list with carton dimensions and weights
  • Fabric and trim test reports for the bulk lot
  • Certificate of origin and export documents

Compliance enquiries

Buyers' compliance teams can request current certificate scans, audit reports and test reports directly. We aim to answer within two working days.

Next step

Ask us the difficult compliance questions

If your buyer needs a specific certificate, a specific test, or a specific audit standard, tell us early. It is much cheaper to plan for it than to discover it at shipping.
